What is ARLA Propertymark?

The Association of Residential Letting Agents, ARLA Propertymark, is the only professional body that is solely concerned with the self-regulation of letting agents and for nearly 25 years has been actively promoting the highest standards across every aspect of residential lettings and management in the Private Rented Sector.

ARLA Propertymark is viewed by government, consumer groups, academia, think tanks and the media as the leading voice in the industry. ARLA Propertymark qualified member firms are seen as being at the forefront of the Private Rented Sector, ready, willing and able to comply with existing and anticipated government legislation.

ARLA Propertymark qualified member firms are required to work within a robust Code of Practice, which covers the key stages in letting and managing a property. There are comprehensive membership Byelaws which include compliance with such issues as handling and accounting for Clients’ money; the mandatory ARLA Propertymark Client Money Protection Bonding Scheme; Professional Indemnity Insurance; Dealing with Complaints and Disciplinary Procedures.

When you use an ARLA Propertymark qualified agent it means that every office must have at least one qualified lettings team member, however, Savills who are ARLA Propertymark qualified agents go much further than that. Our aim is that all of our lettings teams are qualified and any new unqualified staff are expected to become qualified within 12 months of joining the company. Attaining the current qualification is no mean feat. It consists of passing 4 exams which include being up to date with the legal aspects of lettings. Having qualified teams acting for you gives you peace of mind in the knowledge that you are working with an agent you can trust and an agent placed to provide the highest standards' when letting and managing your property.
