Its central location at the heart of England means Nottingham has long been associated with trade and the textile industry, most notably lace.

The Lace Market area of the city has recently been redeveloped and now offers excellent shopping, a thriving café scene and some of the city’s best office buildings.

As well as being home to the legend of Robin Hood and his arch rival Sheriff, city centre properties in Nottingham offer excellent value for money, while some stunning country houses lie on the outskirts.

Some of the UK’s biggest brands have headquarters in the city, including Boots, e-on, Siemens, Capital One and Vision Express.

Nottingham has two universities - Nottingham Trent and The University of Nottingham.

The city also plays host to excellent sporting facilities, including the national tennis centre, Trent Bridge cricket ground, two football stadiums and an ice hockey arena.

Nottingham has an excellent tram system and is located just near the M1 motorway. The Peak District National Park is also close by.

The railway station has trains running direct to London St Pancras.
