Philippa Johnston-Bennett

Philippa joined Savills in 2025 and is based at head office in London, working nationally with the heritage, townscape and archaeology team.

Philippa graduated with an MLitt in Medieval Studies from the University of St Andrews in 2025, having previously completed her undergraduate degree in Medieval History and Archaeology at the same university in 2024. She has gained experience as an archaeologist on sites across Scotland, England and abroad, published research on the Scottish medieval landscape, and presented at Scottish Archaeological Research Framework symposiums. Philippa now provides professional advice across all three strands of the team’s expertise, and through her academic studies and professional practice at Savills she has developed a comprehensive understanding of historical architecture, archaeological principles, and heritage.

Her recent experience has included in-depth studies of heritage assets, archaeological desk-based assessments alongside technical archaeological documentation and she has recently been involved in multiple townscape projects. Throughout her time at Savills, Philippa has worked on a variety of projects nationwide, helping a diverse range of clients.

Outside work, Philippa is an avid sailor and skier, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, and, when not in London, can be found in Cornwall or hiking in the Scottish mountains.
