Ed Horton is a Natural Capital Investment & Regenerative Agricultural Specialist within Savills Natural Capital team. He advises landowners, estates, investors and businesses on integrating regenerative agriculture, natural capital and environmental markets into resilient land management and investment strategies.
Prior to joining Savills in 2025, Ed developed his expertise through a practical farming career, working across commercial agriculture and rural businesses with a particular focus on regenerative farming systems, soil health, crop production and farm business performance. This operational experience provides him with a detailed understanding of the realities facing farmers and land managers, enabling him to bridge the gap between theory and commercial delivery.
At Savills, Ed specialises in assessing how natural capital, environmental outcomes and regenerative land management can enhance the long-term value and resilience of rural assets. He works with clients to identify investment opportunities, evaluate emerging environmental markets, develop evidence-based sustainability strategies and support the transition towards more regenerative farming systems. His combination of practical agricultural experience and strategic advisory expertise allows him to provide commercially focused advice that is grounded in real-world land management.
Ed is particularly interested in the role of natural capital investment, sustainable food systems and regenerative agriculture in delivering both financial returns and environmental outcomes. He regularly works with landowners, estates, institutional investors and corporate stakeholders seeking to understand how changing policy, environmental markets and evolving consumer expectations are reshaping the future of rural land ownership and management.
Drawing on his practical farming background, Ed provides advice that combines operational understanding with strategic investment insight, helping clients navigate the changing relationship between food production, environmental delivery and long-term land value.
Outside of work, Ed is a competitive long distance runner, competing in ultra marathons across the world. Based in Cirencester, he has a particular interest in the future of farming, regenerative agriculture, natural capital markets and how these can support thriving rural businesses and landscapes. He is also actively involved in industry research and thought leadership that helps shape the transition to more sustainable land management.
