James joined Savills in 1973 after graduating from Cambridge University and became a partner in 1980. After initial experience in agency and development, he specialised in valuation and landlord and tenant services.
James is based in the City of London, dealing with professional consultancy services, valuation and lease consultancy matters on commercial property.
A large part of James' work is in resolution of rent reviews in and around the City. Throughout his career James has worked in dispute resolution and has acted as expert witness in disputes concerning rent reviews, Section 18 and other matters relating to property valuation. He has given evidence at the High Court, County Court, The Lands Tribunal, at arbitration and for resolution at mediation.
From time to time, James also acts as an arbitrator for resolving property valuation disputes.
