Finlay first joined Savills in 2021 as a placement year student, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in property management, business rates, and valuation. This immersive introduction to the industry allowed him to develop a strong foundation in navigating complex rating issues and understanding the nuances of property consultancy.

After completing a BSc (Hons) degree in Real Estate at Nottingham Trent University, Finlay returned to Savills in 2023, specializing in business rates consultancy. With more than three years of dedicated experience in the field, he plays a key role in managing a diverse portfolio of assets, with a primary focus on properties across London. His expertise lies in lodging and overseeing appeals, Rates bill management, and providing strategic advice to clients.

Finlay works closely with the valuation office agency and local authorities to ensure optimal outcomes for clients, leveraging his analytical skills and in-depth industry and specialist knowledge to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of business rates. Beyond his consultancy work, Finlay develops user-friendly Excel tools that enhance team operations and simplify complex processes.
