Tom joined the Chelmsford planning team in April 2022 having spent close to 5 years prior at another Essex-based consultancy.
After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2017, Tom went straight into private practice and gained experience working on various minor and major planning applications, appeals, enforcement cases and permitted development schemes. He subsequently became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in 2020.
Since joining Savills, Tom has been actively involved in major planning applications across Essex on behalf of small and national housebuilders ranging from 10 to 600 unit schemes. He has also developed positive relationships with public sector clients, including the NHS and multiple Local Authorities.
In addition to overseeing the preparation and submission of planning application and appeals, Tom has also attended appeal hearings and is currently part of the Savills grey belt working group.
During his time at Savills, Tom has participated in multiple fundraising events including the 2024 Maldon Mud Race, and has undertaken voluntary work alongside his colleagues in the Chelmsford office. He has lived in Essex for most of his life, based in Southend-on-Sea, and enjoys playing both football and tennis.
