Since joining Savills in 2015, Ruth has developed extensive experience securing land consents for electricity, renewable energy, water and infrastructure projects across Scotland.
Ruth has built a strong track record in securing land consents for utility and infrastructure projects. Initially, seconded to one of Savills’ clients, she was responsible for obtaining land consents across their electricity distribution network, building a strong foundation in stakeholder engagement, negotiation and utility infrastructure delivery.
Since then, Ruth has worked across a diverse range of energy and infrastructure projects, including transmission overhead lines and underground cables, transmission earth wire replacement schemes, distribution network upgrades, onshore and offshore wind farms, battery energy storage systems and water infrastructure developments.
Ruth specialises in negotiating access licences, leases, and acquisitions for electricity substations and waste water treatment works, as well as wayleaves and servitudes for overhead lines and underground cables. She also has experience in securing exclusivity agreements for energy generation projects, alongside obtaining various planning consents, serving notices, and assessing damage claims in support of customer connections and major investment schemes.
Outside of work, Ruth enjoys walking and has a strong interest in rural and agricultural matters.
