Case Study

Old Road Campus

Oxford

Office & Industrial Planning

Savills was instructed by the University of Oxford to obtain reserved matters approval for new research buildings at its Old Road Campus in Oxford.

The first building was the 'Big Data Institute', which includes dry laboratory space, meeting rooms and amenity facilities. The second phase includes a bio-escalator building to foster and develop innovations in medical research and develop spin off companies.

The work included extensive public consultation, presentations to the Oxford Design Review Panel and discussions with stakeholders.

Subsequently, the building gained approval in August 2014 and construction began on site in December 2014.
