The first month of 2020 was generally positive for all of the Portuguese regions.
Considering the city of Lisbon, the revenue per available room (RevPar) during the month of January 2020 continued its growth trajectory comparing with the same period of 2019 (3.7%), performing a total of € 53.77. This rise is mainly justified by the growth of 2.40 p.p. the occupancy rate per room, which registered 59.12%. This value had again a special contribute of the 4 stars category, which RevPar increased 7.19%, at the same time of a growth of the occupancy rate of 3.2 p.p.
Brazil (14.6%), Spain (11.7%) and France (8.6%) were the main origins of the foreign visitors of Lisbon.
The North Region registered the best performance of the 3 analyzed zones with the highest growth rates of RevPar (10.38%) and ADR (2.14%).
The Algarve Region registered a moderate growth the RevPar (7.09%) and a decrease of the ADR of 13.49%.
