
Phil is the Lead Archaeologist within the Savills’ Heritage &Townscape Team.
Phil has worked as a professional archaeologist throughout the UK for over 28 years. For the last 20 years, Phil has been responsible for the procurement and management of hundreds of archaeological projects from initial consultancy and background research through to the production of post-excavation reports and journal publications. During this time, Phil has gained considerable experience advising and liaising with clients and their agents, heritage organisations, and other statutory bodies. Phil became a fully accredited member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (at MCIfA level) in 2003.
Phil’s role at Savills involves the writing of technical reports, including Archaeological Desk-based Assessments, Built Heritage Assessments ,Environment Impact Assessments, Heritage Statements, Settings Assessments, and Written Schemes of Investigations for archaeological fieldwork. Phil also procures and manages archaeological fieldwork sub-contractors on behalf of his clients.
