Steve Partridge

Steve is  a senior leader and highly regarded national expert in housing finance with over 30 years’ experience in public and private sectors in business planning, investment appraisal, financing and the development of new homes.  

Steve specialises in working with housing providers to build their financial capacity, to assess options for, and then implement the delivery of, new and better housing through all routes: including “traditional” public and private finance, new housing companies and Joint Ventures, and innovative ways to bring new sources of private finance into affordable housing. He works with a growing range of local authorities on their business planning, facing the financial pressures whilst also developing plans for investment in new homes.  

Steve also and leads Savills’ work to deliver equity investment at scale into affordable housing, working with a wide range of investors and fund managers seeking to deploy capital.

Steve's main focus is twofold: to help grow the range and scale of new capital into affordable housing in the face of rising debt and financing costs; and to help local authorities address the significant financial challenges facing them following the introduction of new standards and large inflationary pressures.

He enjoys running and trying to keep fit in between the work, and successfully completed the London Marathon in 2024, raising over £6,000 for his nominated charity. He is a season ticket holder at Birmingham City FC and has been since a little boy cheering on Trevor Francis when he first hit the headlines. It's been a long , tired and weary road. Steve sits on the board of Stockport Homes as an independent non-executive.
