Sam is a Commercial Research Director in Savills’ UK business, having built a long‑standing track record in UK retail and leisure research since joining in 2012.
His work focuses on the retail and leisure markets across the UK and Europe, spanning national high streets, shopping centres, grocery, and retail warehousing. He plays a leading role in the latter as head of the out‑of‑town retail research function.
He provides consumer, occupational and investment insight across the sector, authoring regular industry publications as well as a range of thought‑leadership pieces. He also curates ongoing press activity and delivers client presentations that shape Savills’ market narrative in direct support of their transactional teams – primarily agency and investment. His analysis informs acquisition and leasing strategies, valuations, asset‑management decisions, planning, and broader investment strategy for both retail and leisure operators and landlord clients.
In addition, his experience spans micro, scheme‑level consultancy. With a strong emphasis on GIS, his specific capabilities include consultancy for retailer store acquisition strategies, site‑location analysis, shopping‑centre development and supermarket‑turnover forecasting.
