Andrew is a director in the rural research team offering insight and advice on agricultural, environmental, rural property and land use issues across the UK.
Andrew started his rural research career in 2006 following a degree in agriculture and subsequently completed an MSc in estate management. He focuses on analysing the impact of policy change on rural businesses, in particular the agricultural transition and its land use and occupation implications.
He leads a team of research analysts and a specialist rural data team. His responsibilities also include market intelligence covering the UK farmland market, the agricultural rental market and farming economics. Andrew is the editor of the Savills rural policy and property e-newsletter Landscope.
Raised an arable farm in Lincolnshire, Andrew has strong practical and theoretical agricultural knowledge and an appreciation of on the ground issues. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, this often takes him out of the arable east and into the uplands where the challenge farmers face are very different.
