Jack Henderson

Two years prior to joining Savills, he started his own consultancy to support and guide home owners into making informed decisions about the risks and responsibilities of owning historic and listed buildings.

Having spent his whole working life in, on around, and under traditionally built historic structures Jack has a lot of experience in defect diagnosis, building pathology, and methods of repair. He has a level 6 NVQ in contracting operations representing extensive experience in designing, planning, and managing construction projects in the heritage sector. His understanding of policy surrounding building conservation and listed buildings is based on practical and professional experience and his logical and effective approach to managing historic significance. As an experienced employer in construction, Jack can also help ensure construction projects stay compliant with health and safety policy.

As part of a diverse building consultancy Jack's role at Savills is multi fascited but very much focused on the historic built environment. He manages the design and tendering of projects and help to obtain the relevant permissions, including Listed Building Consent; and once underway, he manages projects to see them safely through to completion.   

Jack supports his clients in providing single building, or estate wide planned maintenance programmes with budget allocations. Reinstatement cost assessments for insurance purposes are a regular part of his work, along with assessments and schedules of condition.

Jack is a keen outdoors-man and family man. He loves open water swimming and diving for scallops and lobster in the coves of the south coast, which can be particularly rewarding. Equally, taking in the Moor with his young family is a wonderful time, what ever the weather. He can begin to have cave man tendancies if he doesn't spend at least a couple of nights out under a tarp each year to recharge his connection to nature.
