Alice is a Natural Capital Consultant based in Edinburgh, specialising in habitat restoration and ecosystem service analysis across the UK.
Alice is an environmental scientist with a first-class MSci in Earth Sciences from Durham University. She began her career in water and sustainable land management four years ago. Since joining Savills in 2024, Alice has worked on numerous large-scale habitat restoration projects, helping clients understand and maximise the value of natural capital on their land.
In her current role, Alice specialises in delivering comprehensive natural capital assessments and habitat restoration projects. She manages projects from initial conception to successful completion. Alice assists with grant applications, conducts detailed feasibility studies and opportunity assessments, and develops robust restoration and monitoring plans. She oversees contractors to ensure project goals are met and evaluates nature finance options to identify potential income and risks within existing markets. Alice is well-versed in both compliance and voluntary nature markets across the UK, including the biodiversity net gain (BNG) evaluations for landowners in England and the peatland and woodland carbon codes. Alice's commitment to restoring natural environment, analytical skills in evaluating ecosystem services, and understanding of UK environmental policies make her an invaluable asset to her clients.
Alice is actively involved in the CIWEM Early Careers Steering Group and is an accredited River Condition Assessment (RAC) surveyor. Outside of work, she is a Trustee for Wild Garsdale Pike, a youth-led environmental project in Cumbria.
