Nick Verdi began his property career in East London back in 2004. He is the Head of Sales in the Shoreditch office and knows the area well – so we asked him to share some of his favourite local haunts.

This restaurant has a modern menu with inspirations from the Eastern Med and the Middle East. The food is great for sharing, so it’s perfect for larger groups. I’ve had a few meals with the team and there’s always a buzzy atmosphere.
Particular favourites include the charred cauliflower, seared tuna and the lamb tagliata. If you only have room for one dessert, go for the kadayif nest of vanilla cheesecake cream, which can best be described as crunchy sweet noodles. It’s a really fun restaurant that immediately won me over – well worth a look.

Tucked away near Old Street, this lovely pub is great for a drink but also serve some fantastic food. There are a lot of good options on the menu and they can accommodate a large booking.
The Sunday Roast is one of the best I’ve had, the nut roast and beef are my favourites. It’s pretty upscale for a pub and the staff are really friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
This is the best place in the world to buy cycling clothes and accessories. Rapha’s have multiple clubhouses all over the world. This store is located in Old Spitalfields Market, which is only a 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street station.
It’s a beautifully designed space and they also serve great food and coffee. It’s the ideal spot for cycle enthusiasts like myself and they also show all of the big cycling events on TV. Tip - club members get a free coffee!
Most people flock to Victoria Park or London Fields on a nice day but Haggerston Park is arguably the nicest one in the Hackney Borough. The park is well cared for and contains a small but luxuriant nature reserve.
It’s very popular with dog walkers and families, plus there are amenities such as a BMX cycle track, 3G football pitch and a children’s play area. It’s a really nice setting and a wonderful place to relax.
