Best restaurant: Clarkes Restaurant

This is a farm-to table restaurant focusing on delicious understated food, where reservations are a must! The ever-changing menu is all sourced from seasonal British ingredients as well as the bread from their own bakery. The amazing standard and quality of Clarke’s is the reason why this is a firm favourite with Kensington locals for the past 25 years, as well as been voted the ‘most consistently excellent restaurant’ by Tatler. The chocolate truffles are a must try. Should you wish to experience their delicious food at home, you can buy some of their most popular products in the shop, or if you’re feeling creativity, purchase the cookbook.

Best pub: The Churchill Arms

This pub is a must-try when you’re in Kensington as it fuses two different worlds together serving traditional British ales and authentic Thai dishes. The design of the place is just as unique as it’s food and drink concept with beautiful bright flowers adorning the exterior while Churchill memorabilia graces the inside. I’d recommend you try the ‘Pad Slew’ noodles, it’s a recipe that has been handed down through generations. Sadly, you cannot book but it’s well worth a visit as Churchill’s grandparents used to frequent this pub back in the 1800’s.

Best shopping - Kensington Church Street

We are so lucky in Kensington to have the best of both worlds. Kensington Church Street lends itself to beautiful antiques, with over 60 of the best antique dealers offering fine art and antiques here. It also has the highest concentration of British Antique Dealers Association in the country. Therefore, this is your chance to unlock the charm and history of Kensington.

Best park – Holland Park

In my spare time I like to visit Holland Park, its wonderful wide-open spaces and abundance of facilities for golf, football and tennis make it a great spot to take some time out. If you visit Holland Park, I’d recommend you visit the stunning Kyoto Garden, and if you’re lucky enough to visit in the summer, there is an Opera production every weekend in August.
