About West Carclaze

Savills was appointed as lead consultants for the new masterplan for a disused clay mine. Our clients supported the development of the site as a mixed ‘eco-community’. Our multi-disciplinary team produced a viable masterplan to include 1,500 new homes with associated education, employment and leisure facilities. A landscape-led approach was crucial to a site with this level of physical complexity and our approach paid particular attention to the management and use of the extensive areas which could not be developed.
