The buying process for new homes is broadly the same as for any other property, but the transaction is more structured and commercial. The main differences are that an immediate deposit is required to reserve the property (unlike with older properties, on which a deposit is paid when contracts are exchanged); and the timescale of the transaction is prescribed, with little flexibility.

Hello, I’m Holly Malek and I am the Sales Manager, Associate for Edinburgh Residential Development Services. I have been working with new homes and developments for almost 10 years and I am lucky to have lived in Edinburgh my whole life, watching it change and things develop.

You’ll often find me enjoying the vibrancy of Edinburgh East and the city centre but I also spend a lot of my time in the South of Edinburgh where its abundance of green space and tranquility.

I joined Savills Glasgow New Homes department in 2020 having previously worked within the Residential team some ten years ago. I am a real foody and love nothing more than trying out a new restaurant or cocktail bar with my friends. I’m always on the lookout for something authentic and a little bit different which is why I love Glasgow so much.
