68 million tons of carbon was emitted from UK residential property in 2020, which represents approximately 20% of the UK emissions. It is estimated that to meet targets set by the Government, including a desire to get all homes to EPC level C by 2035, investment in energy performance improvements will need to increase sevenfold. Residential is arguably the problem child for the UK property sector when it comes to sustainability.
In this webinar, held on Thursday 13 January, our panellists discussed what policies and incentives will be necessary to accelerate decarbonisation, and explored what the opportunity looks like, and where to start.
