The REM portfolio comprises approximately 2.5 million sq ft of premium lettable space, alongside a substantial development pipeline valued at approximately £320 million to £400 million. The instruction will see Savills deliver a comprehensive, compliant and data-led energy management service across some of London’s most recognisable commercial and mixed-use assets.
As a licensed energy broker, Savills Energy will provide an integrated utilities management solution designed to minimise regulatory risk, support compliance with key legislation, including Heat Network Regulations 2025, MHHS and ESOS, and provide occupiers with accurate, audit-ready energy data.
Savills will also deliver real-time visibility of financial, operational and sustainability performance at portfolio, asset and occupier level. This will enable early issue detection, benchmarking and informed decision-making, supported by a robust procurement strategy aligned with UKGBC Gold Standard principles. The approach will prioritise competitive and transparent energy sourcing, REGO-backed renewable supply and active risk management to help reduce costs and future-proof the portfolio.
Jacqueline Millar, Head of Property Management, Real Estate Management (UK) Limited, comments, “Savills was selected for its strong brand, financial stability and proven track record in delivering energy management solutions across complex real estate portfolios. The team has impressed us with their open communication, support and professionalism through the onboarding process, bringing together the right expertise to ensure a smooth transition and establish a strong foundation for the partnership.”
Seonaid Culliford, Head of New Business Savills Energy, adds, “REM’s portfolio includes some of the capital’s most high-profile and operationally complex assets, and we are delighted to have been appointed to support its energy management strategy. Our focus will be on delivering a transparent, compliant and data-driven service that identifies efficiencies, supports accurate recharging and helps strengthen the long-term environmental and operational performance of the portfolio.”
The instruction builds on Savills extensive experience advising on and managing energy requirements for large-scale, mixed-use and iconic London assets, and major Build to Rent (BTR) portfolios. Savills approach will draw on its established expertise in landlord and tenant recharges, legislative compliance, utility billing, procurement strategy and sustainability-led asset performance.
