Tim Williams

Tim Williams is a highly experienced arboricultural consultant with 25 years experience in his field. 

Based out of our Telford and Chester offices, Tim has been employed within the northern forestry team since 2021, this team covers an area extending from the midlands to the Scottish border. Tim specialises in all aspects of arboricultural advice including tree risk management, trees in relation to planning, tree protection legislation and; the identification and management of tree disease.

Tim Williams joined Savills in 2021 following 20 years’ experience in the arboriculture industry. Following an initial introduction to the industry as a climbing arborist his career included over 10 years within local authority as a principle tree officer. This role specialised in all aspects of local authority tree management including tree risk management, policy creation, administration of tree preservation orders and enforcement, advising on the impact of development on trees for the planning process, this included both small and large developments from single properties to multi phase housing, urban regeneration, mineral extraction and restoration.     

Since joining Savills in 2021 Tim leads the northern forestry team on all arboricultural matters, providing his expertise to the team and clients. Using his vast experience he is able to provide bespoke solutions to clients on complex and difficult tree related problems.

Tim specialises in the following elements of arboricultural management: creation of tree risk management plans, risk zoning and tree inspection, BS5837:2012 – trees in relation to demolition, design and construction – recommendations, planning advice – specialising in difficult and constrained sites, urban tree planting design and implementation, veteran and ancient tree management, advice on tree protection legislation and enforcement and identification and management of tree disease.

Outside of work Tim is currently renovating a small holding in North Wales with his partner Beckie. Tim is an active member of a South Snowdonia Search and Rescue team and hold a position on the operational management committee as a team members representative. He is a qualified swift water rescue technician and is currently training as a remote rescue medical technician. Tim enjoys spending outside and can often be found exploring the mountains of North Wales with his cocker spaniel Arthyr.
