International Women’s Day (IWD) took place on Saturday 8th March, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
This year’s theme was ‘accelerating action’, emphasising the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. Savills is a proud supporter of the event, undertaking a number of initiative across the global business.
In the UK, an IWD event took place in Manchester, alongside BPF Futures, which saw junior to mid-level female property professionals experience an evening of speed networking to help build business relationships. A panel discussion also took place in Leeds, with Savills collaborating with international real estate organisation Vastint. More than 80 people came to listen to Chanelle Gray, Savills head of diversity & inclusion, and Simon Lister, head of the firm’s Leeds office, talk to other panellists about women in the workplace, with insight into future generations’ gender divisions.
From a global perspective, senior women within Savills spoke about their personal experiences, career journeys, and the advice they would give to women entering the industry today.
At Savills, we recognise the importance of female representation and diversity in the workplace.
