Savills marks international Day of Persons with Disabilities, an annual global observance day promoted by the United Nations.
Today Savills is marking International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a UN day that is celebrated every year on 3 December. The day is about promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilising support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Savills has been a proud supporter of this day, helping to raise awareness globally about disability and the need for tolerance and to embrace our differences.
This year focuses on ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’. To mark today, Jake Ash, MRTPI Senior Economist, shares what a “properly inclusive” workplace is, his experience and what has made a difference to him.
Savills believes in creating a space where everyone can thrive. This means embedding a culture where our people are all valued, respected and made to feel included. We carry this approach not just within our own teams, but also the communities, places and spaces in which we operate.
IDPD is a special time to celebrate the achievements and contributions, as well as increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance.
By weaving our D& I vision into policies, processes, training, recruitment, and strategy, Savills aims to empower everyone to continually nurture and uphold an environment where employees and clients alike can be their true, whole selves.
