CHALLENGE

MetroBox instructed Savills Energy to conduct a review of its existing portfolio to identify which sites had most potential to host electric vehicle infrastructure.

Once identified, Savills developed a rollout plan based on the feasibility we carried out, and guided the client through tendering, considering both investment options (self-funded and developer funded).

SOLUTION

Savills carried out an initial high-level review across the portfolio and then a tailored feasibility study on one location. This outlined the type and number of electric vehicle chargers needed and the financial investment required and possible returns.

Savills engaged in a tender exercise with five different EV charger contractors who provide self-funded installations and four EV charging point operators that would provide fully-funded deployment.

RESULTS

Savills has the experience of covering the end-to-end service for the installation of EV charging. Being involved from the initial stages has allowed Savills to understand the client’s driver traffic for the implementation of EV chargers and assess each site accordingly. 

MetroBox decided to roll-out with a fully-funded route with Tesla as a Charge Point Operator (CPO) portfolio-wide as a result of Savills engagement in the project.
