CHALLENGE
Savills was instructed to advise on, and project manage the installation of fast EV charging points at an office building in Surrey. The key challenge was advising on the optimal point of connection into the local electricity network to ensure the best balance of cost and futureproofing.
SOLUTION
Savills made relevant enquiries with the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to obtain a quotation for a new feeder pillar connection. Savills then contracted a reputable EV charger installer and acted as point of contact between all parties throughout the installation process, advising on elements such as: capex budgeting, contracts, location, futureproofing, shrubbery removal, operations and maintenance, and billing.
RESULTS
The EV chargers were installed successfully, and Savills provided post-installation advice regarding billing and recharging to ensure smooth handover to the property management team.
