Environmental Stewardship

How we can help you:

The reform of the Common Agricultural Policy along with growing environmental concerns has lead to an increasing emphasis on the management and farming of land with environmental benefits in mind and the creation of a suite of schemes under which payments are made for following agreed management prescriptions.

In England these schemes are administered by Natural England and in Wales by the Welsh Assembly Government. Our Agribusiness consultants can provide guidance and advice on scheme applications and on the ongoing management of land under scheme rules.

The primary objectives of the schemes are to: conserve wildlife; maintain and enhance landscape quality and character; protect the historic environment and natural resources, and promote public access and understanding of the countryside.

We can guide you through the pros and cons of the various schemes available and advise on the most appropriate management options for your farm whilst remaining focused on the financial impact such options may have on your core business activities.  We can help you integrate the scheme into your farming system, as well as drawing up your application.
