Almost everything a landowner or developer might want to do with their land and buildings will require planning permission. Securing permission is often difficult; securing the permission that gives the client what he/she really wants, is an even bigger challenge. This is our core Planning business.

 

Our Expertise:

Every year we secure numerous planning permissions - including Listed Building consents, Conservation Area consents, reserved matters consents, Advertisement Regulations approvals, Section 106 obligation discharges, and many others.

We know the planning system inside-out, and, through our network of offices, have current experience of, and key contacts in, most of the planning authorities in the UK. Our people have the ability to:

  • Advise on strategy and tactics
  • Project manage the preparation of applications
  • Manage community/stakeholder engagement
  • Negotiate planning permissions, including the contents of Section 106 agreements
  • Handle appeals, call-ins and legal challenges

We apply our skills daily on everything from the most complex urban extension or major infrastructure project(s), to small scale (but no less important) residential infill schemes and shop extensions.

Of increasing importance is the role of the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC)/Major Infrastructure Planning Unit (MIPU). We are experienced in the process involved in preparing and managing IPC/MIPU applications for substantial infrastructure projects.
