Mergers & Group Structures
Savills has an unparalleled track record of assisting associations through the process of creating or developing groups and partnerships, as brokers, facilitators and/or as project managers.
How we can help you:
We have achieved the successful registration of over 20 groupings and have a wealth of knowledge about group structures and governance in the public, private and third sectors. We also have a track record in creating new associations as a result of stock transfer, including stand-alone RSLs and the creation of new Groups.
Our Expertise:
The successful groupings we have helped to establish have brought long term benefits to the organisations and their residents.
We attribute this success to understanding the organisations and their values, together with our ability to help the organisations create a shared vision and work through the hurdles that inevitably arise during a grouping negotiation.
In our experience, the success of partnership negotiations has been significantly affected by the process that was adopted for the discussions.
Discussions of this nature are very challenging and sensitive, and the chances of success are enhanced by an external party acting as a broker between the parties and taking responsibility for the documenting of the ongoing discussions and helping to keep the project on track by providing effective project management support.
There is always a point within discussions of this sort where issues emerge that can initially seem insurmountable. With the efforts of an intermediary working closely with both sides to initially scope what the real issue is and then develop strategies to resolve the problems, discussions can be kept on track.
We have a successful track record of working with, and an excellent relationship with, the Tenant Services Authority (TSA), including Registry and the Risk & Assurance Teams (who oversee grouping registrations). We have a clear understanding of their requirements, of the steps that will allow associations to evidence effective consultation, and how the business case for partnership can best be developed and demonstrated.
