A number of core directors in Savills are regularly instructed as valuation experts in professional negligence cases involving property related professionals, e.g. valuers, solicitors, architects, engineers and building contractors as well as with regards to matrimonial matters,  disputes involving convenants, rights of way, failures by landlords to repair and other contractual issues. We act for both claimants and defendants and are frequently instructed as single joint experts. 

Our Expertise:

Within Savills there is almost certainly someone who can hold themselves out as an expert on almost every type of property. Our expertise extends to investment property, portfolios, development / refurbishment opportunities and owner occupied land and buildings. We regularly value offices, shops, factories and warehouses, as well as residential and mixed use, agricultural and rural properties. 

Our expertise is supported by an extensive range of agency offices covering most of the UK meaning that our reports can draw on appropriate agency expertise, data and first hand market knowledge. 

When a director has the necessary property expertise but lacks the knowledge and experience of acting as an expert then he is mentored and supervised by one of our core expert witness directors. 

Finally Savills invests in research which covers each of the major markets; residential, agricultural and commercial. This research is widely respected, frequently quoted in the national and international press, and can be a critical element in respect of retrospective valuations and opinions.
