Biofuels (Biogas & Anaerobic Digestion)

Biofuel substitutes for petrol and diesel are making a growing contribution to vehicle fuel demand. If produced sustainably, biofuels may be regarded as a renewable source of energy.

Savills assists biofuels development projects in the following ways:

  • analysis of feedstock supply from farms at a local and regional scale
  • identification of potential sites for biofuel production in optimal locations with respect to feedstock supply
  • site options and acquisitions
  • planning applications and environmental impact assessment (EIA)

In 2007 Savills secured planning permission on behalf of Bioethanol Ltd for one of the UK's first bioethanol production plants, on land beside the Humber estuary.
