We have a longstanding involvement in the UK oil and gas sector and now provide a range of property services to a number of upstream and downstream businesses.
Over a period of 30 years Savills Energy has gained a wide range of experience and in depth knowledge of the issues which face the onshore oil and gas industry.
It is estimated that by 2025 the UK will be importing close to 70% of the gas we consume (assuming a no shale scenario). To ensure future security of supply DECC recognises that the UK must maximise its production of gas alongside renewables and new nuclear. The Institute of Directors estimated that UK shale gas production could attract annual investment of £3.7 billion.
The UK’s onshore oil and gas industry will continue to contribute significantly to the economy, and play a prominent role in the UK’s energy future. The requirement to ensure that its extraction, handling, processing and use is made both more efficient and sustainable is becoming increasingly important.
