As an energy consumer it’s important to understand energy use, take steps to control and reduce it, and purchase energy as smartly as possible from the outset.
This 'Energy Optimisation' approach involves the following:
- Energy auditing – our experienced energy auditors can help make your assets more efficient. Reasons for an audit may be to achieve Regulatory Compliance (ESOS, Heat Metering Regulations, MEES), or just good old common sense to deliver business efficiency and cut costs.
- Audit recommendations – we can then help you implement the audit recommendations, project managing the works. Some will simply make your asset more efficient (LED lighting, upgrades to BMS and fabric of building, improvements to pumps, fans and motors, improved efficiency of heating and cooling), others use your asset to generate income (rooftop solar, biomass, or heat pumps).
- Funding – in some cases you will need to fund the project, but increasingly the works can be fully funded by third parties through Energy Saving Performance Contracts, so you can benefit from immediate energy bill reductions and an improved working environment.
- Energy Brokering and Bureau Service - the most obvious thing you should do is just make sure you buy power at the cheapest possible price!
