The team welcomes two new members.
As planning and development activity begins to accelerate across Scotland throughout 2013, Savills Scottish Planning Team welcomed two new members in November, with Simon Herriot (Associate Director) and Adam Richardson (Associate) joining our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices respectively. Simon and Adam both come with many years experience gained within Scotland and the rest of the UK over a broad range of sectors including energy, retail and strategic land.
The renewable energy sector continues to result in heavily involvement for the team who have achieved several consents for large scale single turbines on behalf of two national wind development companies. Savills Planning is continuing to advise several major wind farm developers on planning applications for large scale wind farms, all of which are to be submitted in the next 6 to 12 months. The infrastructure side of the offshore renewables industry is also active, and applications have been submitted for Planning Permission in Principle, a Harbour Revision Order and Marine Licences to support the redevelopment of the high profile renewable energy project at the Port of Ardersier by Inverness.
Savills Planning remain active across the commercial, residential and retail sectors, with a significant level of expert witness and inquiry work being undertaken across all sectors. Recent successes include gaining planning consent for a major mixed use housing and employment site in Perth and obtaining multiple planning consents for in-town and out-of-town retail developments in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
