Getting in estate at the RAC

Ian Bailey, Head of Rural Research at Savills was invited to go and speak for the second year running about the Savills Estate Benchmarking Survey to the Rural Estate Management postgraduate students at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester on 3rd February 2012.

Nick Barrett, the senior lecturer in Rural Estate Management at The Royal Agricultural College commented: “The feedback we had after the lecture was extremely positive and showed that Ian’s talk really demonstrated to the students the importance of having up to date material available when making decision and trying to make sense of trends in business”.

“The students all stand in awe of the quality of the work done by Ian and his team. The Savills survey is the longest established and most comprehensive sample and therefore the best source of  empirical data on the subject.  I encourage the students to develop their understanding of the underlying trends in estate management as revealed through the survey results year on year.”

Ian spoke to a lecture theatre of 46 postgraduates about the agricultural land market as well as the Savills Estate Benchmarking Survey which forms part of the official course reading list for both this course and the undergraduate rural land management course.

Ian adds: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Savills to be promoting the work we do on Estate Benchmarking to the next generation of estate managers. The Savills Estate Benchmarking Survey which was started in 1996 is considered well established and reputable by those in the industry.”
