Savills Countryside Learning Challenge 2015
Making miles count for children.
In 2013, Savills rural team gamely undertook a six-week fundraising exercise in aid of Countryside Learning, for which staff travelled in a relay format from Lands End to John O’Groats via a variety of non-motorised means.
This year we have decided to take on another fundraising event – the Countryside Learning Challenge.
Taking place during the week commencing 14th September, the aim is for different geographical regions of Savills to attempt to cover 5,000 miles during the course of the week, via non-motorised means. Along the way, we are encouraging them to visit clients and contacts, as well as hopefully persuading some of you to participate in relevant activities.
The event will finish on Friday 18th September culminating with a team from each of the regions cycling into London to meet at the Company headquarters in Margaret Street.
Our aim is to raise a considerable sum of money to support the Charity and we’ve set ourselves an ambitious target - to raise (including Gift Aid) £100,000.
The mission of the Countryside Learning is a simple one. It is to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside and gain a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it. They achieve this via a variety of means including Estate Days, when they invite children, often from under-privileged and urban backgrounds, onto an estate to learn about the countryside.
How can I help?
