Case Study - Lakeview House, Burwood Park
Brand new 7,500 sqft luxury house set in half an acre built by Applegate Homes, located in the private residential estate of Burwood Park and backing onto a tranquil lake.
Applegate Homes approached Savills Weybridge in 2008 to find them a development opportunity in a prime location, ideal for the type of luxury home that they specialise in creating. We introduced them to a half acre site in Burwood Park with a small dilapidated house. With our advice they were happy to commit without planning permission and once secured, we advised on the type of property and size to maximise the site.
Applegate Homes is a bespoke developers with an outstanding reputation for quality and professionalism. They like to work closely with a client to deliver a superior standard of service. They like to see the whole project through to completion, including interior design, removing all the hassle from the client but delivering their dream home, individually designed to meet their specific requirements.
In 2010, once the roof was on the new house, Applegate asked Savills to see if they could find a buyer willing to commit to a purchase ‘off-plan’. We targeted people who would value the chance to have input into the choice of fixtures and fittings, kitchen style, tilting and bathrooms etc.
The Weybridge office introduced a local family who were looking to find a larger house ideal for young children but still close to the mainline station. We valued their existing house and were able to set a marketing plan that gave them the confidence to proceed without selling this before committing to the purchase.
This gave Applegate Homes the security of a sale prior to the completion of the project. In the end, we also sold the family’s house before they moved into the Burwood Park house. We were able to mange two high value sales, helping both parties to realise their goals.
