Since the beginning of the year the volume of land marketed has increased steadily each month across Great Britain.

Demand is widespread but dependent on careful pricing and location. Crispin Holborow head of farm sales provides some key findings from the updated farmland value survey.

  • Most significant increases in volume recorded in East Midlands, East Anglia and West Midlands.
  • Significant reduction (down almost 40%) to 4500 acres in the South East of England.
  • Level of activity up in Scotland compared to 2004 but volumes still historically low.

Rural Asset Management Services

For many years, Savills has recognised the need for specialist advice and a businesslike approach towards all aspects of rural asset management. In recognition of this the business continues to grow across all areas of expertise.

There are now 160 full time rural chartered surveyors employed across the country operating out of 19 Savills offices and some estate offices. Together this team is responsible for the management of more than 2 million acres on a day to day or consultancy basis. The business has been strengthened by the addition of the agribusiness Aubourn which has specialists based in four strategically placed offices.

We have established clearly defined businesses within rural asset management based on specific areas of expertise.
