Steeped in thousands of years of history and once the nation's capital, Winchester is an attractive Cathedral City in the heart of Hampshire. It retains its appeal to both locals and Londoners alike with the fundamentals of a thriving city.
Winchester is surrounded by numerous idyllic villages and unspoilt countryside, with famous chalk stream rivers, downland and woodland.
Education is a key reason why families with children choose to relocate to the area. Some of the most popular schools in the country in the area are both private and state funded. They include Kings School, King Edwards, Perins, Farleigh, Twyford, St Swithun’s, Pilgrims, Winchester College, Norman Court, Princes Mead. There is also an excellent sixth form college, Winchester University and Arts College.
There are excellent rail and road links, Winchester being 60 minutes by train from London Waterloo.
The M3 motorway (junctions 9, 10 and 11) is within easy reach, making both London and Southampton readily accessible. The interconnection with the M27 makes Southampton International Airport easily commutable and also opens up the South Coast and the New Forest. The A34 to the north provides access to Oxford, the Midlands and the A303 to the West Country.
