Savills estate agents in Sunningdale

What is Sunningdale like?

Sunningdale means gracious living in beautiful green surroundings. In addition to the world-class golf courses at Sunningdale and Wentworth, Windsor Great Park and Virginia Water are on the doorstep. The superb sporting facilities also include Ascot racecourse, home of the UK’s most elegant race meetings.

We specialise in high-end property in the prime areas of Sunningdale, Virginia Water and the Wentworth Estate, Ascot, Windlesham and Chobham. This is one of the most desirable residential areas in the country, attracting the cream of the international market to its selection of classic and contemporary mansions and country houses.

Property in Sunningdale

Sunningdale is noted for its ultra-prime property, ranging from period country houses to bespoke modern mansions. But the area also boasts a fine choice of townhouses, cottages and apartments, accommodating a wide range of buyers.

The Wentworth Estate is the most exclusive enclave, a prime mixture of glamorous modern homes and original, 1920s ‘Tarrant’ houses that attracts the international wealthy. The Estate’s ‘Main Island’ is theplace to live.

Sunningdale’s premiere roads include Titlarks Hill, Ridgemount Road and Fireball Hill, which thread their way through swathes of golf course. For more space, head to the pretty village of Windlesham, and the large period and modern houses in Westwood Road and Hatton Road. Windlesham also has a good selection of pretty cottages from about £350,000, giving it a good mixed community. For genuinely rural property with up to 20 acres, look around Chobham — a very pretty village in glorious countryside.

The local scene

The nearest hubs for shopping and entertainment are Windsor, the characterful and ancient town synonymous with Royalty, and Woking — unremarkable but with the fine New Victoria theatre that presents a wide range of opera, drama and musicals.

Getting about

The M3 runs just to the south of Sunningdale, providing direct access east to the M25 and west down to Southampton.

Services to London Waterloo from Sunningdale take 45 minutes; there are also stations at Ascot and Virginia Water.

Heathrow Airport is close by, easily reached via the M25.

Schools in Sunningdale

Sunningdale’s proximity to the American Community School, Egham, and TASIS at Thorpe is a major draw for the overseas community.

The area is ideally placed for Eton College; also within easy reach are Charterhouse, Wellington College and Harrow.

The excellent local schools include St Mary’s School, Ascot; St John’s Beaumont, Old Windsor; and Papplewick School, Ascot.
