What is Maidenhead like?

Maidenhead, in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire offers the ideal combination of busy town, beautiful countryside and excellent transport links. The town itself, which is currently being redeveloped in anticipation of the arrival of Crossrail in 2018, lies south of the River Thames, and as well as attractive residential areas, there are plenty of riverside walks and open green spaces.

The surrounding villages are extremely popular and with families and Bray (with its gastronomic links), Cookham, Pinkneys Green, Holyport and Taplow are the most highly sought after. To the south-east of the town lies Windsor with its royal connections, beautiful open spaces of Windsor Great Park. The area is renowned for its world-famous sporting events that bring visitors every year to the area to enjoy the sporting highlights at Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta and Wentworth Golf.

Located in what is known as England's Silicon Corridor along the M4 motorway west of London, the convenience of the town and surrounding area make it prime commuter territory and with the opening of Crossrail in 2018, Maidenhead is set to become even more popular in the near future.

Property in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas

Maidenhead’s finest properties are along the river with a mix of established and modern design. In the town and surrounding area, properties are period and more contemporary houses, as well as new-build developments and flats. The surrounding villages offer more traditional houses and pretty cottages with more outside space. The area attracts buyers and tenants moving from London in search of a larger family home close to the countryside, as well as young professionals, working in the town or commute to London or Reading.
