A compact city with much of its history dating back to Roman times, Lincoln is dominated by two major landmarks - the Cathedral and the Castle. The medieval Bailgate area, with its narrow cobbled streets, boasts many cafes, restaurants and independent retailers.

Homebuyers are attracted to the area for many reasons: rich history, a predominantly rural backdrop, good schools and properties that offer excellent value for money.

The much sought after grammar school system attracts families and there are several highly regarded schools in Lincoln and in towns across the county. The University of Lincoln is estimated to be worth £200m to the local economy and represents 90 different nationalities.

Lincolnshire’s rural landscape boasts the greatest proportion of Grade 1 (highest quality) land in England from which more fresh produce than any other county is produced.  The county is the largest producer in the UK of potatoes, wheat, poultry and cereal.

The area is well served by transport links.  The M18 and M180 motorways lie to the north, the A1 to the west, and the A46 connects Newark, Lincoln and Grimsby.

The main East Coast rail line passes through the county with links to London, Leeds and Scotland.

Nearby airports include Humberside, Doncaster Robin Hood, East Midlands and Stansted, making Lincolnshire an ideal county in which to live or to do business.
