Client testimonials

"Harry was fully focused on us and came across as working for us as much as his vendor. He was a joy to deal with and never once did we feel that he was hassling or hustling in any way. A proper professional and if we ever sell the house he will be contacted."

How do we work with our clients on property in Edinburgh?

It pays to specialise in a property market as broad as the one served by Savills Edinburgh. From the cream of city property to choice country houses and sporting estates, the choice is as large and varied as the area we cover, which stretches 100 miles north and south of the city centre. That’s why we have dedicated teams specialising in flats and townhouses, country houses, farms and estates, new homes and land sales.

Concentrating expertise in this way ensures a comprehensive knowledge of markets and localities — a knowledge that has made us by far the biggest, most experienced agency in the area. With the back-up of an international operation and the vast range of contacts and services that goes with it, we are able to maximise every opportunity that the market has to offer.

Edinburgh Property Guide

The New Town, Edinburgh’s 18th-century gem, is the area’s strongest market, offering a splendid array of conversion flats and grand townhouses. For leafier surroundings, head to the charming suburbs of The Grange, Morningside and Colinton, Barnton and Inverleith, which offer a wealth of spacious Victorian and Edwardian villas. New homes are being built to the East of Edinburgh, with numerous smart developments on the waterfront in Leith.

The towns and villages of East Lothian are perfect for commuters: Gullane, North Berwick and Dunbar all enjoy beautiful coastal settings, excellent road and rail links to Edinburgh and a wide choice of Edwardian properties and period farmhouses.

We are particularly active in St Andrews, where the venerable golf club and an unspoilt townscape attracts discerning international buyers. Gleneagles, with its more flamboyant profile and array of modern properties, also draws the wealthy from around the world.

Throughout the region there are plenty of classic country houses — mainly Georgian and Victorian but often incorporating a much more ancient building. Castles and sporting estates are always sought after.

For classic New Town elegance, try Royal Circus, Ann Street, Moray Place or Heriot Row

For period family homes in the suburbs, try Lauder Road, Easter Belmont Road or Barnton Avenue.

For contemporary apartments, go to St Bernard’s Residencies in Dean Park Street, Whitehouse Loan in The Grange, or The Foundry at Springside, Fountainbridge.

For ideal commuting, look in Gullane, Dirleton or North Berwick.

For classic St Andrews quality, go to The Links or The Scores.
