Cirencester, referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds, was an important City during the Roman era and stood at the junction of three major roads, The Fosseway, Ermin Way and Akeman Street.
At the centre of Cirencester is the Market Place which retains much of the atmosphere of a busy and prosperous Cotswold wool town. Its diverse range of shops means that it is popular shopping destination. Rising above the Market Place is the 162 foot tower of its Parish Church – the largest in Gloucestershire.
Savills office in located in the Market Place opposite the Church. From here the office covers most of the Cotswolds, extending to the M4 in the south and Moreton in Marsh in the north.
Due to the scenic beauty of the Cotswolds, the area is extremely popular with week-end homebuyers. Equally its easy access to the Capital makes the area extremely popular with London based buyers. A fast and efficient Great Western railway service provides easy access to London Paddington from Swindon with a journey time of about one hour.
Young families are also attracted to the area because of the wide choice of private schools. These include Beaudesert Park, Querns Westonbirt, Rendcomb College and Hatherop Castle as well as the many schools and colleges in Cheltenham.
Savills Cirencester has a large range of flats and houses for sale in Cirencester and the surrounding areas.
