Cirencester, referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds, was an important City during the Roman era and stood at the junction of three major roads, The Fosseway, Ermin Way and Akeman Street.

Young families are also attracted to the area because of the wide choice of private schools.  These include Beaudesert Park, Querns Westonbirt, Rendcomb College and Hatherop Castle as well as the many schools and colleges in Cheltenham.
