Savills Chelmsford

With a population of around 120,000, Chelmsford is the county town of Essex steeped in history as one of the original settlements of Roman Britain. 

Today, the town’s commercial sector includes M&G Group, e2V technologies and Britvic’s world headquarters. Highlands House hosts the Virgin music festival “V”, and Chelmsford is home to an Anglia Ruskin University campus and the Essex County Cricket Club ground. It also has its own cathedral.

Chelmsford is one of Savills oldest regional offices established in 1957. It serves the town’s residential market as well as the prime Essex villages. The office also provides rural, development and commercial expertise across Essex including the Thames Gateway and Haven Gateway regeneration areas.

Chelmsford is just over 30 miles from London and is at the heart of the commuter belt. London Liverpool Street is approximately 35 minutes by rail, Stratford is 30 minutes and provides direct links to the Docklands Light Railway. Stansted Airport is just 20 miles away and the A12 gives swift access to the M25.

Schooling is another draw for house buyers. King Edward Vl Grammar School, Chelmsford County High School for Girls and Colchester Grammar Schools’ are very popular with all three in the top 10 for exam results in the UK.
