The Bromley, Locksbottom and Chislehurst area is the undiscovered jewel of the south east’s commuter belt. Everyone heads to the Surrey hotspots like Esher and Weybridge, yet for graciousness and sheer ease of access to London, our patch is unbeatable.


Property in Kent and Surrey

It’s noted for its substantial family homes in villagey locations. Keston Park and Farnborough Park are prestigious gated estates built mainly in the 1930s; their green settings have been carefully preserved through sensitive development governed by strict covenants, and they remain among the most desirable addresses in the south east.

Chislehurst is perennially popular, thanks to property that ranges from quaint cottages to large villas and its picturesque village centre. The private Wilderness Road and Camden Park Road are typically gracious locations.

Chislehurst provides a more timeless setting; with its high-quality shops and restaurants on Royal Parade, it balances graciousness with a village atmosphere and a thriving community spirit. The surrounding Kent countryside, swathes of National Trust land and public parks, and a wealth of golf courses around Chelsfield provide a beautifully green backdrop.

Getting about

Bromley is close to the M25 and the M20, giving fast access to Gatwick, Heathrow and the Channel Tunnel terminus. Nearby Ebbsfleet International station provides fast links to London and Paris, the South Coast and Bluewater shopping centre.

Mainline commuter services are second to none: direct connections to London Bridge, Waterloo, Charing Cross, Victoria and Cannon Street take between 18 and 25 minutes from Orpington, Chislehurst and Chelsfield.

This part of Kent is popular with families because it retains its grammar school system. Among the major local draws are Darrick Wood School, Locksbottom; Newstead Wood School for girls, Orpington; and St Olave’s and St Saviour’s Grammar School for boys, Orpington
