Savills estate agents in Brechin

What is living in Brechin like?

In an area that includes choice residential property and some of the best farmland in Scotland, our long-standing expertise in both the residential and the rural markets is a valuable resource. Savills Brechin is, of course, a prime shop window for the fine variety of townhouses, cottages and country houses that make this area so sought after. But it is our vast range of specialist expertise in all aspects of land sales and tenancies, and farm and estate management that really sets us apart.

Property in Brechin

At one time there were apparently more millionaires per square foot in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, than anywhere else in the country. Their splendid Victorian houses remain the choicest properties in the area. Aberdeen, where the oil industry has kept the market buoyant, has a fine selection of period townhouses and modern family homes. Throughout the region you’ll find the whole range of country property, from cottages in secluded glens to historic castles and archetypal country houses.

The East coast has some of Scotland’s finest agricultural land; the current frenzied demand for quality land investments, combined with the comparative scarcity of high-grade farmland in Scotland, makes our area a principal focus of rural transactions.

For substantial and sophisticated family homes, look in Broughty Ferry.

For the market-town ideal, look in Montrose and Forfar.

The local scene

The area covered by Savills Brechin is a perfect balance between city sophistication and rugged rurality. Dundee goes from strength to strength as a centre of education and culture, with two universities and a range of arts venues and companies, including the Dundee Repertory Theatre, Scottish Dance Theatre and Caird Hall, which hosts regular concerts. Aberdeen is similarly a cultural hub, boasting splendid civic architecture and some important art collections.

But the real glory of this part of Scotland is its landscape. Angus is a beautiful and relatively undiscovered county, and the Cairngorms National Park and Loch Ness provide endless opportunities for outdoor activities. The region as a whole provides some of the best shooting and fishing in the UK.
