Frantz Fanon House was one of several properties that Savills was instructed to sell following L&Q's decision to exit direct provision of care.
Frantz Fanon House was a purpose built care home registered for 10 clients with mental disorders. There was also 6 supported living units arranged on two storey houses in a terrace.
Savills originally worked with L&Q and the Local Authority to see interest on a "going concern" basis albeit assuming the care home converted to supported housing. The funding package offered by the Local Authority was considered insufficient and interest was limited.
It was therefore decided to close the business and sell the property with vacant possession. The property was successfully sold to a specialist care operator.
