Savills advised on this 50 acre regeneration project incorporating a major new stadium, 2,600 new homes, large scale retail, leisure and commercial space and sub-regional waste recycling centre.
We acted as planning advisers from site selection, providing planning strategy advice, preparing many planning applications, leading negotiations with the Council and statutory consultees, managing the preparation of a major Environmental Impact Assessment, playing a key role in public consultation activities, giving evidence at a compulsory purchase inquiry, and being involved in resisting court challenges.
Our involvement was fundamental in turning urban brownfield land into a suite of development projects with a total value in excess of £1m. The original planning permissions established substantial value, but we have subsequently reworked most parts of the scheme, increasing density and efficiency, and adding further value.
Won the Mayor of London’s Award for Planning Excellence in 2006.
